Christian Vision
Our Vision
“Educating for life in all its fullness”
Vision Statement
At Hampstead Parochial, we aim to create a community where every individual thrives and experiences a life filled with love, purpose, and meaning. Grounded in Christian values, a passion for learning, and a shared commitment to making the world a better place, we provide an environment where students grow, both academically and spiritually.
John 10:10
Our vision is inspired by the words of Jesus in John 10:10: “I have come in order that you might have life – life in all its fullness.”
Christian Values
Hampstead Parochial School is a Church of England Voluntary-Aided primary school, offering a distinctively Christian education in an inclusive environment where all children are encouraged to learn, inquire, and grow.
The distinct nature of our approach is reflected in our Christian values, such as Collective Worship, a strong Christian ethos, and our Religious Education curriculum. We welcome children and staff from all faiths, or none, fostering understanding and tolerance among people of different traditions.
As Archbishop Robert Runcie (1980–1991) once said, “Church schools should nourish Christians in their faith, encourage those of other faiths, and challenge those of no faith.”
Our school community, including students, staff, governors, parents, and clergy, has identified six core values, which are integral to our school life and are expected to be embodied by everyone:
-
Koinonia (Fellowship)
Koinonia means unity in purpose and serving one another. As the Bible says in Philippians 2:2, “Make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being in one spirit and of one mind.” We work together to create an environment where all individuals feel safe and supported to reach their full potential.
-
Respect
“Don’t be jealous or proud, but be humble and consider others more important than yourselves.” – Philippians 2:3
We show respect for each other, our teachers, and our school, demonstrating good manners both inside and outside the classroom. -
Compassion
“Administer true justice; show mercy and compassion to one another.” – Zechariah 7:9
We care for those in need and offer support, whether in the classroom or on the playground. -
Forgiveness
“Put up with each other, and forgive anyone who does you wrong, just as Christ has forgiven you.” – Colossians 3:13
We resolve conflicts amicably, offering forgiveness and the chance for a fresh start. -
Friendship
“Love each other like brothers and sisters. Give each other more honour than you want for yourselves.” – Romans 12:10
We understand the meaning of true friendship and actively care for each other. -
Responsibility
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.” – Colossians 3:23
We take responsibility for our actions, our learning, and our belongings.
*Koinonia may be an unfamiliar term, but it signifies the ideal fellowship and unity within the Christian Church, as described in Acts 2:42. It represents a spirit of joint participation and contribution to the community.
