Performance Opportunities at Hampstead Parochial School
At Hampstead Parochial School, we believe in the power of performance to build confidence, creativity, and teamwork, all within the context of our Christian values. As a Church of England school, we encourage our students to express themselves in ways that reflect our commitment to faith, community, and personal growth.
Class Performances
Each class performs a class assembly annually for the rest of the school and their parents. These assemblies are an opportunity for students to learn lines, gain confidence, and experience their first taste of public speaking. Through these performances, students explore important values such as kindness, respect, and service, which are central to our Christian ethos.
Nativity Play
In the Lower School, children take part in a meaningful Nativity play that combines acting and singing. This performance is a cherished tradition that allows our students to engage with the story of Christ’s birth, bringing to life the messages of hope, love, and faith that are central to the Christmas season. It’s a special time for our school community to come together in worship and celebration.
Year 6 Musical Production
In Year 6, students take part in a large-scale musical production, which showcases not only their performance skills but also their talents in other aspects of production such as staging, props, costumes, and graphic design. The musical production serves as a celebration of their growth as individuals, encouraging them to work together in service to one another and the community. Through this collaborative experience, students also reflect on the Christian values of teamwork, stewardship, and creativity.
Wider Performances
At Hampstead Parochial School, students have many opportunities to perform publicly, enhancing their confidence and skills. Through debates, they develop speaking and critical thinking while upholding values of justice and truth. Our choirs and orchestras offer chances for musical expression and community connection. Sporting events encourage teamwork, perseverance, and sportsmanship. Each activity fosters the Christian virtues of courage, service, and respect, helping students grow both individually and as part of the wider community.
