Learning Beyond the Classroom

Our central location in the heart of London provides us with incredible opportunities to enrich our students’ education by utilizing the local area. From professional workshops to world-class museums, our students have access to a wide range of learning experiences.

In addition, we make the most of our proximity to Hampstead Heath, using it for fieldwork and science activities in partnership with the Heath Education Centre. These outdoor learning experiences allow our students to connect classroom knowledge with the natural world, fostering curiosity and hands-on exploration.

Visitors and Workshops

At Hampstead Parochial School, our diverse range of parent professions enriches the learning experience for our students. We are fortunate to have connections that allow us to invite visitors to share their expertise, whether discussing specific career fields or offering insights into different countries, cultures, and religions. These visits broaden our students’ understanding of the world and foster a global perspective. In addition, our close ties to the local church and clergy allow us to invite them into school, where they share their wisdom and experiences, deepening our students’ understanding of faith and community values.

We also offer specialist workshops to provide hands-on learning opportunities. For example, in History, our students have experienced a Greek Day, where they re-enacted the famous Battle of Marathon, bringing history to life. Or in Year 1, where children had the chance to experience a day at the seaside’ from 100 years ago, offering a unique, immersive way to explore the past. These interactive experiences help shape well-rounded students grounded in faith, knowledge, and community.
