What is the Pupil Premium?
The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly-funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and to close the gap between them and their peers.
The funding is available to both mainstream and non-mainstream schools such as special schools and pupil referral units.
Who is the Pupil Premium for?
The Pupil Premium is primarily aimed at Reception to Year 11 pupils who are from low-income families and are eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) or who have been registered for FSM at any point in the past six years.
How much is the Pupil Premium?
In the 2022 to 2023 financial year, schools will receive the following pupil premium grant for eligible pupils:

| Pupils in years 7 to 11 recorded as Ever 6 FSM | £935 |
| Looked after children (LAC) defined in Children Act 1989 as one who is in the care of, or provided with accommodation by, an English local authority | £2,345 |
| Children who have ceased to be looked after by a local authority in England and Wales because of adoption, a special guardianship order, a child arrangements order or a residence order | £2,345 |
| Pupils in year groups reception to year 11 recorded as Ever 6 service child or | £310 |
| Pupils in year groups reception to year 11 recorded as in receipt of child pension from the Ministry of Defence | £310 |
How much does Hampstead Parochial School receive?
In 2022-23, Hampstead Parochial will receive 21,800.

How do we spend this money?
In 2021-22 the funding contributed towards additional staffing of teachers to work alongside the class teachers and support a range of wider opportunities for pupils. It has also been used to support wider outcomes, giving pupils the opportunity to learn an instrument through the Camden Music Service and enabling them to attend a range of after school clubs. Pupil Premium also enabled children to attend the residential school journey.
How Can You Help?
School funding is based on a formula which, among many other elements, includes the number of children who are entitled to Free School Meals.
Even if your child does not wish to take Free School Meals but is entitled to receive them, it is beneficial to the school for the eligibility to be recorded as we receive additional funding for your child for six years. This is especially important now that all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive automatic free school meals.

Swimming
