At Hampstead Parochial, we aim to inspire pupils to be innovative and creative thinkers who appreciate Design and Technology. We want our pupils to develop the confidence to take risks, through drafting design concepts, modelling and testing, and to be reflective learners. Through the evaluation of past and present design and technology, we want our pupils to develop a critical understanding of its impact on daily life and the wider world.
As a school, we follow the KAPOW scheme of learning which supports a broad and balanced curriculum that builds on previous learning and provides both support and challenge for learners. During our DT lessons, children are encouraged to be inquisitive about the way products work which will help them to become informed consumers and potential innovators.
